How We Started
A Contractor You Can Count On
Hearts in Homes started the way most good things do — out of frustration with the way things were. Our founder, Cortez Robinson, is a mechanical engineer who got into real estate investing and quickly discovered how hard it was to find reliable contractors for his fix-and-flip projects. Rather than keep searching, he built the solution himself. Over 6 years ago in Rochester, NY, he launched Hearts in Homes with a simple mission: provide the kind of honest, skilled, dependable work he could never find.
He believed there was a better way. In 2012, he started Hearts in Homes with a small crew, a commitment to honest pricing, and a simple rule: treat every home like it belongs to someone you care about.
More than a decade later, that rule still drives everything we do. We've grown into a full-service home repair and renovation company — but the heart of what we do hasn't changed.

Cortez Robinson
Founder & CEO
A mechanical engineer by training, Cortez started Hearts in Homes over 6 years ago in Rochester, NY after experiencing firsthand how hard it was to find reliable contractors. As a real estate investor fixing and flipping homes, he kept running into the same problem — good help was nearly impossible to find. So he built the solution himself. What started as a passion for real estate grew into a company built on the principle that quality work and honest people should never be hard to come by.
